Bridgeline Selected To Develop Web Based Agent Recruitment Tracking System For John Hancock

May 05, 2004

Boston, MA. May 5, 2004 - Bridgeline Software announced today that it was selected by John Hancock Financial Services to develop a web-based tracking system to manage all of the recruitment activities of their career agencies. Currently, the firm interviews between 15,000 and 20,000 candidate agents annually, in over seventy of its agencies nationwide. BRIDGELINE was approached to develop a system that would ensure the use of standardized recruiting practices across the firm's agency system and help manage this large candidate flow. The primary goal of the system is to build up a stable of high-quality new agents that would in turn spur additional growth in their agency ranks.

BRIDGELINE's new approach will allow users in the various agencies to log in to a web-based interface, develop a profile for each candidate, manage and track their progress from the initial interviews through pre-contracting and licensing. Important data on each candidate, including interview notes and predictor test scores, will be easily retrieved by managers involved in the recruitment process. Additionally, the system will manage all recruiting correspondence and allow the company's home office to run powerful, customized reports analyzing recruiting activity versus goals across their agency system.

John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: JHF) and its affiliated companies provide a broad array of insurance and investment products and services to retail and institutional customers. As of December 31, 2003, John Hancock and its subsidiaries had total assets under management of US$142.5 billion. John Hancock can be found on the Internet at www.jhancock.com.
