Newton-Wellesley Hospital Launches Online Pre-registration

March 07, 2004

Boston, MA. March 7, 2004 - Newton-Wellesley Hospital announced recently the launch of it's progressive online pre-registration process developed by Bridgeline Software, which allows patients to complete their registration prior to coming into the hospital for their scheduled appointments. Individuals will benefit from this new system by registering in the comfort of their own home, thereby avoiding the hospital registration line the day of their visit, allowing them to proceed directly to the hospital department where they will receive their treatment.

As Mary Murray, Director of Patient Access Services at Newton-Wellesley describes it, "Through the web, patients can enter their scheduled or walk-in appointment information and then receive confirmation via email." She continues on to say, "This new, secure online service will expedite the patient's visit and streamline the registration process." Once a patient is pre-registered, he/she will be given a unique reference number that will allow for faster pre-registration the next time they log on.

Currently, services eligible for Online Pre-Registration include Radiology, Laboratory, Nutrition and Rehabilitation Services, Cardiology and Women's Imaging/Mammography. As the process evolves, the concept will be available for many more services. To view the hospital web site and pre-registration process, please log on to www.nwh.org.
