The Bank of New York Launches New Investor Reporting Website Created by Bridgeline Software
October 12, 2004
Boston, MA. October 12, 2004 - The Bank of New York, a publicly traded global financial services firm with over $2.5B in revenues, 22,000 employees and operations in more than 100 countries, recently announced the official launch of its new investor reporting website developed by Bridgeline Software, Inc. Based on the Corporate Trust division’s long-term emphasis recognizing and understanding the unique realities facing issuers and investors of debt securities, the Bank of New York concluded that a new global website was needed in order to maintain its position as a market leader.
Bridgeline Software was selected to redesign a new reporting website in response to customer demand for fast and easy access to critical information. Bridgeline used its proprietary, user-centered development process to engage internal and external constituents in setting the roadmap for a system that surpassed competitor offerings and exceeded user expectations.
Bridgeline devoted a great deal of time upfront meeting with key bank customers to discuss their difficulties and frustrations with the current program and document their needs and expectations for the new website. This process allowed Bridgeline to develop a new system that will exceed client demand for the next several years. “Bridgeline’s user-centered process and overall approach to creating a superior user experience was met with some initial skepticism, but at the end of the day, it really provided us with a solid return on our investment and a website that is currently at the top of its field,” comments Brian Swords, VP of Strategic Initiatives for the Bank.
In addition to a more compelling information architecture and site design, Bridgeline added many new features to the site including a ’My Portfolio’ section that allows users to customize their experience. Bridgeline also redesigned and implemented supporting application components in conjunction with the modifications in order to improve overall site performance and timeliness of information delivery.
To ensure a successful launch, The Bank of New York relied on Bridgeline to promote the site via a Flash-enhanced commercial that gives users instructions using an engaging e-learning tool.
