Woburn, MA October 6, 2009 - Bridgeline Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLSW), a developer of SaaS-based web application management software and award-winning interactive business technology solutions, announced today that web applications it developed for the National Children’s Museum, Partners HealthCare, and Hooked on Phonics were recently honored by the WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Website Development. Founded by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards is the annual standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best websites in 96 industry categories submitted by interactive agencies and website marketing departments in more than 47 countries from around the world. Bridgeline has won over 30 various awards for excellence in web application development since the Company was founded 9 years ago.
"Our development teams take tremendous pride in developing world class, interactive technology solutions for our customers," said Thomas Massie, Bridgeline President and CEO. "Recognition by the WebAwards is an industry honor and a testament to the quality of our team’s capabilities."
Winning accolades for Outstanding Website is the National Children’s Museum (NCM) website (www.ncm.museum). Developed to promote the opening of the new National Children’s Museum in Washington, DC, slated for 2013, the website moves the NCM brand onto the web and communicates the Museum’s mission of “inspiring kids to care about and improve the world”. Developed on Bridgeline’s iAPPS Product Suite, the NCM site makes considerable use of Flash interactive design and includes the LaunchZone where children can learn how the museum will be built using green materials (ncm.museum/launch_zone/launch_zone). This interactive feature incorporates video of museum architect Cesar Pelli which Bridgeline scripted and shot. Other features includes a Children’s Museum locator; the ability to accept donations; Our Story, which tells the history of the museum in images (ncm.museum/our_story); and newsletter integration to facilitate outreach.
Winning in both the Biotechnology and Technology Standard of Excellence categories is the Partners Research Ventures & Licensing (RVL) website (rvl.partners.org), also developed on Bridgeline’s iAPPS Product Suite. The new website supports how Partners HealthCare, an integrated health system founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, helps inventors, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry bring new ideas in healthcare innovation from product concept to market commercialization. The updated RVL website streamlines how users access and interact with resources such as funding, research and development, intellectual property, licensing, and marketing. Prospective researchers are able to use interactive contact tools to identify and connect with key people within RVL as they navigate each step in the product development process.
Winning in the Education Standard of Excellence category is the Hooked on Phonics eCommerce website (www.hookedonphonics.com). Hooked on Phonics was created in 1987 and has since been used by more than 2 million families to help teach children critical reading, math, and study skills. Hooked on Phonic’s new eCommerce system greatly enhances their capabilities around product promotion, customer service, and overall system administration. Many automated features were built into the system including BOGO (Buy One Get One free), bundling, and cross-sale, which reminds customers during the shopping and checkout process that they may also be interested in other related items. Additionally, a “refer a friend” viral marketing feature is utilized to enhance word of mouth promotion.
With the release of iAPPS v2.8, Bridgeline further extends their position as an innovation leader in integrated web application management software. Bridgeline customers benefit from a superior user experience through tighter and deeper product integration, more timely and targeted data for improved decision making, and industry leading functionality for more effective management of web content.
