New site offers improved search engine optimization; affordable SaaS option works within budget guidelines

Woburn, MA, February 17, 2010Bridgeline Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLSW) a developer of SaaS-based web application management software and award-winning interactive technology solutions, announced today that the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the City of Atlanta, GA and surrounding ten county area, has launched their new website (www.atlantaregional.com) on iAPPS Content Manager. Bridgeline developed and now provides the ongoing managed services for the ARC site in its state-of-the-art SaaS hosting environment. Bridgeline’s iAPPS Product Suite is an innovative SaaS solution that unifies Content Management, Analytics, eCommerce, and eMarketing capabilities - enabling users to swiftly enhance and optimize the value of their web properties.

With Atlanta Regional Commission’s website needs rapidly growing, a new content management system was required to replace their existing RedDot platform. The new system needed to better accommodate ARC’s increasing ranks of content contributors with flexible seat licensing for current and future needs, offer an easier-to-use administrative interface to cut down on training, and provide role- and permission-based workflow. Furthermore, with search increasing in overall importance to their communication strategy, ARC required industry-leading search engine optimization capabilities in their new CMS.

Ultimately, ARC’s selection process resulted in the choice of iAPPS Content Manager, which best met their overall feature requirements and offered functionality such as a forms builder, RSS feeds, and blogging tools, as well as document management capabilities that can support thousands of documents and digital assets. Because of iAPPS’ deep integration, it offers some of the most SEO-capable features available in the market today including auto-generated 301 redirects, auto-generated XML sitemaps, and SEO-friendly URL strings. Additionally, iAPPS’ SaaS option allowed ARC to spread out software licensing fees over a longer period of time. Says ARC Communications Director Julie Ralston, “the option of the SaaS environment enabled us to stay within our project budget parameters, and keeps us from having to worry about product updates and site security. Bridgeline handles all of that.”

iAPPS not only provides Atlanta Regional Commission with a content management system that offers many superior features and functionality over their previous website environment, it also services as an interactive technology platform. Utilizing a sophisticated .NET platform, iAPPS is able to support advanced custom development enabling delivery of interactive solutions that truly offer business value and attainment of business goals. For ARC, Bridgeline developed seamless, back-end integration with many internal applications including GIS (Geographic Information System) and events calendars. In fact, Bridgeline’s considerable customer portfolio and experience developing complex websites and applications was a factor in ARC’s selection process. “Going with a company like Bridgeline, that has an extensive portfolio of impressive customers, gives us the security of knowing that they will be a lasting business partner” says Ralston. “The Bridgeline team was very helpful and hands-on in working with us to implement the iAPPS CMS.”
