iAPPS v4.7 Released by Bridgeline Digital

Woburn, MA | November 08, 2011

Bridgeline Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLIN), developer of the award-winning iAPPS web experience management (WEM) platform today announced its latest release of iAPPS with v4.7. With this release, Bridgeline brings the internationalization of WEM to the eCommerce space and adds the ability to reach customers in global markets with multilingual support for storefronts, campaigns and administration, along with multiple currency capabilities and innovative and comprehensive logistical order fulfillment options. The new release also includes out-of-the-box solutions to enhance international fulfillment, tax and regulations logistics with built-in connections to international providers, among many other enhancements.

Bridgeline's iAPPS Product Suite, already recognized as a market leader, is the only WEM platform available as either a SaaS or perpetual license that deeply unifies eCommerce, Content Management, e-Marketing, and analytics capabilities - enabling marketers to swiftly enhance and optimize the value of web properties and directly affect eCommerce conversions on a global scale. For these and other reasons, the iAPPS Product Suite was recently selected as a finalist for two 2011 CODiE Awards and iAPPS Content Manager is the 2010 CODiE Award Winner for Best Content Management Solution, globally.

With the iAPPS v4.7 product enhancements, Bridgeline enables marketers and merchants to easily expand into the quickly growing international market and take full advantage of the opportunities the global economy avails to them. The new version offers the iAPPS administrative interface in English, Spanish, French and German and handles the majority of internationalization requirements for eCommerce sites from the first moments of implementation, right out of the box. Support for over 100 different currency options, as well as connections to international payment and tax providers that allow easy adjustment for tax, tariff, duty and other international fees at checkout, puts retailers in the driver’s seat. And with iAPPS’s unified content management capabilities, sites are easily made ready for localization.

iAPPS v4.7 also contains options that facilitate international phone number, billing and shipping address, and postal code entry – all of which make localization for various geographies and multiple cultures a snap. The high level of localization easily available to merchants provides international shoppers with a familiar experience that features browsing the catalogue in their native language, pricing in their local currency and shipping rates from origins across the globe.

Marketers and retailers can collaborate on managing their stores and web properties through multilingual administrative interfaces in v4.7, so the overall web experience can be created, optimized and continuously enhanced more easily and quickly than ever before. In fact, iAPPS Commerce v4.7 makes content management in the users’ native language simple – a huge advantage for international eCommerce sites. Putting the local experts in control of site culture makes robust translation at all levels easier and more accurate – and appropriate - than ever. Localization by natives preserves idiom, colloquialism and syntax and keeps design consistently acceptable, opening the door for companies to seamlessly expand eCommerce across the globe, and then perfect localization for specific cultures and geographies.

One of the most challenging aspects of international eCommerce – fulfillment logistics – is addressed innovatively with the addition of comprehensive 3D packaging algorithms. Estimating shipping specifics based on limited, “one-size-fits-most,” flat fee options too often ends up costing online retailers more and eating away significant margin. iAPPS Commerce v4.7 allows cataloguing of inventory with specific, varied dimensions for weights and size, and mathematically sets packaging and shipping costs for optimal scenarios (including packaging in multiple containers) – accommodating both metric and English systems of measurement. Real-time, accurate shipping costs for UPS, USPS and FedEx allow eCommerce sites the ability to maintain significant margin in shipping and handling costs that should enhance revenue, rather than impede it.

In addition to all of these enhancements, iAPPS Commerce v4.7 includes support for adding downloadable media as an inventory and sale option, including bundling and immediate fulfillment. Extended reporting for sales and sales tax for multiple regions within and across multiple countries has also been included.

iAPPS v4.7 also brings across the board enhancements and updates to the rest of the iAPPS Product Suite that include:

  • Overall improved usability with the inclusion of the latest versions of AJAX controls;
  • iAPPS Commerce enhancements:
    • Downloadable media product support;
    • Support for over 100 currencies;
    • Support for international shipping and billing addresses;
    • Built-in connection to leverage CyberSource as a payment and VAT tax provider;
    • Real-time shipping cost calculations with UPS, Fedex, and USPS;
    • Extended reporting for sales tax and sales within regions by country;
  • iAPPS Content Manager has enhanced Navigation Editor permissions to allow more flexibility and ease of use;
  • iAPPS Content Manager has also made creation of additional sites and microsites easier and quicker than ever before;
  • iAPPS Analyzer offers distributed filtering of Bot agents from a central web service in SaaS.
